They reproduce in many ways
While most animals reproduce either sexually or asexually, tardigrades can do both. Some species are asexual; the female produces offspring without the need for fertilization. Others can reproduce by laying eggs, and some even produce both eggs and sperm, allowing for sexual reproduction.

Interestingly, some tardigrades are also capable of horizontal gene transfer, where they can acquire genetic material from other organisms without reproduction. This ability is thought to have evolved as a way for tardigrades to acquire new genes.
