Although there are beautiful insects all around the world, the fact remains that most of these guys usually possess a really scary side, especially when you encounter a swarm of them. What better time than Halloween is there to talk about these creepy insects? Here are five of the creepiest insects worldwide.

Mosquito

This insect is worthy of mention. Mosquitoes are simply tiny flying insects that bite and suck blood from animals and also human skin. Mosquitoes can be found anywhere in the world, but majorly, they are dominant in parts of Africa. They breed mostly in stagnant water.

This insect bite results in swelling and itching on the affected part of the skin. While the pain caused by the bite isn’t significant, the mosquito is dreaded because it is a carrier of dangerous diseases like malaria, yellow fever, Zika virus, and many others. It is the most harmful and deadly animal in the world. 

Assassin Bug

No one likes bugs, and this is another reason not to. Assassin bugs are wheel-shaped and live like every other type of bug. They are found majorly in all continental parts of the United  States of America.

Apart from its shape, which makes it look threatening, the assassin bug’s bite is another reason to avoid it. Its bites are extremely painful but can’t kill humans. These bugs, however, help by preying on other dangerous species like the Japanese beetle.

Titan Beetle

Titan beetles are huge and can grow to over six inches in length. They are the largest beetles in the world. They are found mainly in tropical rainforest areas like Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Brazil.

While titan beetles are not aggressive, they are scary due to their enormous and sharp mandibles, which can effortlessly bite through a pencil and rive through human flesh. The bites are, however, not poisonous but painful!

Giant Silk Worm Assassin Caterpillar

Just as the name implies, these creatures are insect assassins. The silkworm assassins can be quite irritating. They are found mainly in parts of South America like Brazil, Peru, and Argentina.

The giant silkworm is dreaded because of its venom. While they can be enchanting to touch, they are terrifying, as a single touch of their larvae can be very lethal if no medical attention is offered quickly. 

Bullet Ant

The bullet ant is as terrifying as the bullet. These ants are just like every other black ants, with the only difference being that they possess bigger mandibles than others. Bullet ants are found in several parts of South and Central America, like Paraguay and Honduras.

Its bite is said to be one of the most painful insect bites in the world. As painful as a bullet, it causes throbbing and burning pain, which can continue for as long as 24 hours. Continuous stinging by this insect will incapacitate the victim with pain.
